This happened in my parents place.
Today I apparently received a call from Hadas at my home. thank god I wasnt there to reply.
I havent been politically active this elections I know. I want to but I'm too busy. Today I attended a small gathering for Dr. Aseel. I was impressed. Unfortunately she is not in my district.
My candidates in 2nd district:
Al-sager
Al-Rashed
Al-Abuljader
Al-Anjari

ترى هالانتخابات حدي مالي خلق و احتمال كبير اصير
passive so please don't judge me.
سالفة عالطاير:
Mnawir seemed strangely concerned. As soon as I sat down next to him:
He said:Mom why do you have drugs in your room?
Me: what? what are you talking about?
Him: You have a box of drugs in your room
Me: No I don't
Him: Yes I saw it under the table
Me: Oh yes habibee thats from the "drugstore". The drugstore is a pharmacy and the box contains medicine and vitamins for you not drugs...we don't do drugs because you know they'll kill you right ...
My God he had this look of relief on his face ... i can't imagine what was going through his head....
That said...
I hate the fact that the only form of children paracetamol in all pharmacies in Kuwait is that lousy ineffective uae made Adol. For several months pharmacies all over Kuwait have been out of stock of all sorts of paracetamol syrups except for the useless Adol.
No Tempra no Tylanol no Panadol nothing... I cant believe that I have to order such medicine online. I can't believe that we have to be under the mercy of those damn medicine distributors who wait until they've sold the last bottle in their stock to make another order...
هذي الكويت صل على النبي

I had just finished my classes for the day and I was starving so my friend and I decided to go have lunch at the Four Corners in Zamalek.
I entered with my backpack on my shoulder and textbooks in my arms sat at our usual table. I looked around and saw two Kuwaiti men seated at a table close by. One of them lifted his head looked at me and smiled and I smiled back recognizing that I'm Kuwaiti too. This man looked so very familiar I thought... I knew him but I couldn't put a name to the face.
They paid their bill and he came up to me..."Kuwaiti student?"
"yes"
"I'm Ahmed Al-Rubaei....min bitah?"
فزيت من مكاني
I stood up in respect shook his hand and told him my name
I apologized for not recognizing him as he wasnt in his dishdasha and ghitra. I think he was in tracks I can't remember
I felt embarrassed not recognizing my minister of education
We chatted for a few seconds
He wished me best of luck and success in my studies
After they left I told my Bahraini friend who he was
She said: "you got cool ministers"
Yes indeed he was cool. He was also compassionate and dedicated to his country, people and students.

I don't recognize my own country any more....
what's all this bullshit about secterianism, segregation of the sexes in private schools, fining flower shops for selling red flowers on valentines, the government officially encouraging lawlessness and chaos, the wrong becoming right and the right becoming wrong; the bad having the upper hand and the good have no hand at all.
Where am I living? this is not the Kuwait that I know...this is not the Kuwait that I've loved for more than 30 years.
How sad...I'm a stranger in my own country...
